Moe Pope + Rain - Let The Right Ones In (Deluxe Edition) (CD)
Moe Pope, originally from Boston, MA, is an indie hip-hop artist, songwriter and contemporary painter. As a lyricist, Pope chronicles the stories of his life and his community by touching upon subjects like fatherhood, relationships, and the human condition.
In 2010, Pope hooked up with Boston producer Rain and released the critically acclaimed Life After God, an album that would change his career forever. The record earned a spot on iTunes Rewinds “Top 10 Albums of 2010′′, Boston Herald’s “Top Local Hip Hop Album of 2010′′ and The Boston Phoenix “2011 Boston’s Best”. In addition, Pope was honored in The Improper Bostonian Music Issue as the “New Up and Comer” and he landed a cover and feature story in Stuff Magazine.
Drawing inspiration from a diverse background of influences, Pope has spent the last few years reinventing his craft and forming alliances to inspire his work. Now at the peak of his career, he announces his latest collaboration as Moe Pope & Rain for the release of the long awaited full-length album Let the Right Ones In.
Let The Right Ones In explores new sonic territory as Pope and Rain channel their diverse musical backgrounds to create a work that blurs the lines between hip-hop, indie-rock and electronic music. The album ranges from hip-hop tradition like A Tribe Called Quest, to the abstract prose of Bob Dylan, the pure adrenalin angst of Bad Brains, to Radiohead’s relentless eccentricity. Pope’s newest release promises to be a truly original culmination of a lifetime’s experience and influences.
Let The Right Ones In will be available January 22nd, 2013 in select retail outlets worldwide. The CD pressing is a limited edition package that sports a clear/transparent plastic printed O-Card housing a stunning 12-panel wallet which folds out to reveal an inverted cross displaying the albums credits and stunning photogra- phy. A separate insert is included that supplies the full lyrics sheets to the album and additional photography.
An even MORE exclusive LP pressing will also be issued on a unique 2 tone colored record - split transparent vinyl and opaque blood red, keeping in time with the dark and gothic nature of the album’s sonic landscape, mood and esthetic.
