forgiveness

Michael Phelps was America's hero. America embraced him as a super star. These are only a few of the covers he has. He did commercials and was endorsed by brands like Kellogg's and Visa. Phelps won a record eight gold medals at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
But partying one day and doing what 23 year old people do, America turned on their beloved hero.
Phelps admitted "regrettable behavior" on Sunday after a British newspaper published a photograph of him smoking from a bong. The tabloid News of the World showed Phelps using the bong during what it said was a November party at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/02/05/kellogg.phelps/index.html

(CNN) -- Olympic hero Michael Phelps was suspended from competitive swimming for three months on Thursday --Earlier Thursday, Kellogg Co. said it will not renew Phelps' advertising contract. The Richland County, South Carolina, sheriff's office said Tuesday it was investigating whether Phelps smoked marijuana on the school campus, adding it would file criminal charges if it determined he did.

Psalm 130:2 Lord, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive To the voice of my supplications.
3 If You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?
4 But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared.
7 O Israel, hope in the LORD; For with the LORD there is mercy, And with Him is abundant redemption.
Acts 13:37 "but He whom God raised up saw no corruption. (Jesus)
38 "Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins;
39 "and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. (NKJV)
When you have God (Jesus, Holy Spirit, the Bible) in and part of your life, it doesn't matter if a whole nation turns on you. Your heavenly Father will forgive you and accept you into His eternal Kingdom.
