Music surrounds the life of Stan Forebee (AKA Bastiaan van der Vlist). Raised by a musical family in The Netherlands, Stan started young with classical piano, moved onto jazz, and then settled into the hip hop and neo-soul beats and textures inspired by artists like J Dilla, Flying Lotus, and Bibio. Many tracks were released another alias — Beatsofreen — and Stan’s tunes found their way on the likes of Vinyl Digital and Chillhop Music. Now, with the 4-song Second Home EP, Stan Forebee joins the Cold Busted fam for the third installment in the label’s Jet Set series.
The vibe is laid-back and melodic, as “Flying Dew” opens the Second Home EP with a filtered piano floating into a pensive beat concoction. A cool jazzy bass line is here to get the heads nodding. “Two Faces” follows with an especially catchy shuffle, adding muted guitar riffs and electric piano runs. “Dilladong” transmits its influence in its title, with tremelo’ed e-piano and plucky synth melodies playing over a chill boom-bap beat. The title track closes it out the EP in a dreamy style — it’s got that reassuring warmth of arriving after long travels. A second home is still a home, and it feels so good.

However, due to the nature of manufacturing and production, pre-order dates may change. If your order contains pre-order items we will hold the package until all titles are available to ship. Please specify in the comments section of the checkout if you would like to: a) hold your entire order until it can be entirely fulfilled or, b) have the in-stock items shipped immediately and the pre-ordered items ship when available. Please note that option B may require additional shipping charges as multiple packages will be shipped.
Out of Stock Items
Our stock rapidly changes and we try and set in place a system that avoids purchasing items that become out of stock. However, if a product ordered is out of stock or on back-order, we will reach out and give you the chance to change or cancel your order. If you choose to cancel, you will be refunded in full.
Digital Items
If your order contains digital items you will receive a digital download link after checkout and it will also be sent to the email provided at checkout.
