Theo Girard Quartet - Bulle (CD)
Théo Girard grew up in a musicians family. His father Bruno Girard, violinist, is the co-founder of the mythical world music Bratsch (1972-2015). Théo Girard was his bass player for a couple years. He also played with the singer-pianist Macha Gharibian, in the band G!Rafe with his father and in Trans Kabar, a Maloya rock band.
Two years after the revelation 30YearsFrom, selected by the Inrocks and Citizen Jazz among the 2007 best albums, Théo Girard is back with the Scottish drummer Seb Rochford (Polar Bear, Pete Doherty, David Byrne & Brian Eno…) and the trumpet player Antoine Berjeaut for his 2nd album: Bulle. The young saxophonist Basile Naudet joins the trio this time to form a quartet.
