J Scienide - Chaos Cycle (EP) (Digital)
Scienide celebrates another trip around the sun with his latest effort, Chaos Cycle. Armed with a stack of records and freshly written rhymes, this body of work is the outcome of a creative burst from the burgeoning emcee/producer over the course of Memorial Day Weekend.
“I basically had my hands full over the long weekend with creating music, so I had no time for anything else,” say J who decided to release this project on his birthday to share with his growing fanbase.
The seven track effort is entirely self-produced, but boasts support from Damu the Fudgemunk who not only mixed and mastered the project, but also lends his dextrous cuts throughout. These skills are particularly flexed on “Fantastic News” where the DC native weaves in and out of the string-heavy production with layers of tone scratches that complement J’s buttery flow.
On the project’s focus track, “Clarity,” J takes a moment to reflect on both his wins and setbacks. “The song is about seeing things and people for what they truly are,” says J who spits a barrage of insightful bars over a funky instrumental that’s carried with an extra thick bassline. “Sometimes you have to be honest with yourself and maneuver around the snakes and backstabbers to see the bigger picture,” J concludes.
Throughout Chaos Cycle, J. Scienide continues to deliver quality hip-hop to his growing fanbase while creatively taking all of the right chances. The seven track effort—which marks J’s fourth solo project—becomes available on July 01 via Static King Records in partnership with Fat Beats, and falls on the heels of his recently released collab single, “Piranhas” produced by Daringer (Griselda Records), which quickly sold out on vinyl (7”).
