Chromatics are the reflection on the dark side of the street. With 2007's Night Drive, they were barely there but they seemed to weigh a ton. Beautiful vocals giving life to city phrases, rhythms that keep everyone moving but not quickly enough to miss the crash. There are times when you can't listen anymore to them because it hurts too much, and then you drop the needle again. There's an intimate distance to their music, with just enough separation that you don't really know what's going on.
In 2012 they returned with the soundtrack to a film of their own imagination in the 17-track opus Kill For Love. Five years in the making and recorded in seven different cities including Portland, Montreal, Los Angeles, Houston, Minneapolis, Paris and Jakarta, the epic hour and a half follow up to Night Drive has been remastered and recut for its five year anniversary by Bernie Grundman and presented as a gatefold colored 180g 2LP-set with printed innersleeves.
