Clocking in at exactly 60 minutes, ZONE OF THE ENDERS is an opus of polyrhythmic exploration. It is as challenging as it is hypnotic. AshTreJinkins is a student of the greats, and now it’s time to step out on his own.
Have You Lost Your Faith In God? by Bür Gür is now available on limited edition cassette tape. We love this album so much, and the cassettes look fantastic. Art by Jared Pittack. Design by New Los. Music by you know who. Get them before they vanish.
Chaucer is the soundtrack to the John Hughes movie that is being made right now about your life. Chaucer is like if Randy Newman and Cole Porter and Weezer all had a sex baby. Chaucer is like the lost Ramone cousin who got stuck growing up in Florida. Chaucer is a ladies’ man, but he don’t give it up for free. Chaucer would give you a ride home if your friends left you behind. Chaucer needs you, but do you need Chaucer? Chaucer is actually the musical child of Josh Simkowitz, and ICED is his sophomore record. Josh lives and records in West Palm Beach, and creates at a feverish pace. In fact, we just got word that he finished a new album since we started this write-up. One part sundrenched surf punk, one part chamomile tea, Chaucer is poised to be your new favorite band.

Gangs describe themselves as a "Modern American Electro-Surf-Proto-Punk-Rhythm-and-Blues Duo," and we can't really argue with them. Their music is difficult to categorize, yet easy to sink into. Something about the fusion of live, raw drums layered with heavy bass and swirling guitars and sythns creates an atmosphere all its own. The lyrics are simple and catchy, placing the emphasis on the vocal harmonies created through the use of effects and vocoders. Within hours of the release of this EP they were getting FM airplay from LA to Portland to France to Belgium to Australia, and the BBC's renowned Gilles Peterson has taken a liking, featuring them on several shows. Gangs is tough to describe, we recommend having a listen for yourself. The "Gangs Tape" features rare midnight blue cassette shells, with full-color, double-sided j-card, and clear Norelco case. Limited to 100 units.
Raised in the most roaring area of Central Florida, Ghost McGrady began producing music on a pirated version of FL Studio as a curious twelve-year old. Taking early influences from Dilla, RZA, Kanye West, and many more, Ghost found his own style during high school by layering and blending various samples and crafting new soundscapes. After catching some serious attention producing for the likes of Bishop Nehru and Boldy James, and releasing a multitude of remix projects and beat tapes on his Bandcamp, we are thrilled to release Fugue State, which we believe to be his most mature work yet.
Magic (LP) is Hairy Hands' first full-length release and it picks up where last year's 'Battlecat' EP left off. Multi-instrumentalist, producer and singer James Alexander Bright (Hairy Hands) sits in the front seat alongside fellow label mate Peter Lyons. The album weaves its way from spaceship bathroom romp past wonky breathless samples chopped in a way only Hands makes work. A true journey lies within Magic. Get it on cassette via New Los now and enjoy this incredible music. Don't sleep on this one.

Jeremiah Jae's The Decline of Black Anakin is the latest project from the leader of the Black Jungle Squad. Jeremiah's signature dusted chopwork is in peak form here, and the raps tell street stories from different dimensions. It walks with the force, but of course, Black Anakin has to traverse the edge of the dark side. Featuring Oliver the 2nd and the cast of the Black Jungle Squad! New Los Angeles is proud to present this limited-edition cassette release, limited to 250 pieces.
Gian Scott (better known as Jincallo) is a talented young musician and unnecessarily well kept secret. Residing in the 818, we have long enjoyed Jincallo's vivid releases from over the hills. The dreamy nature and animate percussion in his instrumentals make for some of the smoothest cuts in the city. He's graced the stages of Low End Theory and has played with the best of them. After years of following his sound, we're proud to be able to release one of his projects. Wish You The Best is Jincallo's fourth official LP and is made entirely of 2014 experiences. We found it to be the type of project we got lost in as we worked ourselves into those Monday nights. After suffering the dreaded case of a fried MacBook, some of his favorite tracks were recovered and luckily ended up on his newest album. This full-length beat memoir can be purchased digitally on his Bandcamp right now. It features Gian's brother Dreadfro, as well as Kat Khaleel, and long-time collaborator/friend, ELOS.

New Los Angeles is proud to present our next record, Yellowstone, coming from one of the founding fathers of the label. KONE emerged on the international scene in 2011 with his critically-acclaimed debut LP The Tractatus (Alpha Pup) and quickly followed that with the Legend Days EP and The White Tape cassette album. He is a Low End Theory veteran and has been known as one of the city's best kept secrets since well before there was a devoted beat scene. Along the way he's been turning out memorable remixes, working with some of the city's finest MCs, all while remaining an original sound no matter what the current flavor of the month is. Over the last two years, KONE has been busy building New Los Angeles and spending all available waking moments in the studio. In addition to recording his own music, he has been putting in serious time behind the boards, helping to produce and engineer the label's growing catalog. He is also one half of the band Gangs that has been burning up airwaves lately, from KCRW to the BBC. Yellowstone is a psychedelic odyssey through swirling organics and electronica, riding a heavy bassline that winds its way through the whole record. Together with his label partner Luis Blanco and label manager Maria Paredes, New Los Angeles has a plan to release the most exciting music they can find. Sometimes that comes from the front office.

When we (New Los Angeles) asked Repeated Measures, aka Chris Norwood, to make us an album, he set out to create a "sci-fi love story," in his words. "A soulful journey through deep space." During the creation of this album, he was hospitalized twice for a medical anomaly that causes one of his lungs to repeatedly collapse. After several surgeries to find and repair the problem, finishing this album served as both a challenge and motivator. Couple that experience with an attempt to take the listener to the place where stars are born, and you have an album that could only be named one thing. Collapse. The deluxe edition of Collapse features not only a gorgeous pressing of the album on top-quality virgin vinyl, but also contains a 32-page, full-color booklet of entirely original art that was created specifically for this release. It also features custom buttons and a Collapse sticker. Only the first 100 copies will be deluxe edition, so you definitely shouldn't sleep on this one.
