Mangala is the new project by Afro-Australian producer and multi-instrumentalist, Zhonu “Nui” Moon Mzali (Future Roots/Digital Afrika).
The journey began in 2024, when his search for new sounds and African roots brought him to Bamako, Mali. Mangala brings together some of Mali’s top traditional artists, complementing these recordings with touches of Afrobeats, Afrofuturism, and jazzy house.
Out of these recordings comes the current Mangala seven-piece live band, a force tailor-made for dancefloors and festivals worldwide.
