For the I’m Funky Now album Melvin Sparks recorded seven new tracks in Detroit with some of the finest session musicians. Very little is known about the band that backed up Sparks on these recordings, but it’s thought that some of the musicians were from the Funkadelic and Parliament family. after a 45-year wait, Tidal Waves Music is proud to be releasing it for the very FIRST TIME on vinyl.
"Diggin' In The Crates (D.I.T.C.) was born out of a group of artists who began making noise in the late ‘80s and into the next decade and beyond—namely Lord Finesse, Diamond D, and Fat Joe. After well-received albums, an official, wider collective was founded that also included O.C., Big L, Buckwild, and producer-rapper combo, Show & A.G. (originally known as Showbiz & A.G.).
This particular record holds a special place in the history of the brand, which is why Patta has teamed up with Fat Beats Records and D.I.T.C. Records for a special limited edition Full Scale t-shirt. The T-shirt consists of 100% BCI cotton and features a Show & A.G. graphic on both sides of the T-shirt. While the front features the iconic cover the back is blessed with an alternative graphic accompanied by our Patta script logo." - Patta
